E-optimal Designs for Three Treatments
نویسنده
چکیده
E-optimality is studied for three treatments in an arbitrary n-way heterogeneity setting. In some cases maximal trace designs cannot be E-optimal. When there is more than one E-optimal design for a given setting, the best with respect to all reasonable criteria is determined.

Optimal Incomplete Block Designs
Optimal incomplete block designs are pursued through the E-criterion of minimizing maximal variance. Methodology is developed for design choice based on graphs and an extensive catalog of downloadable designs compiled. Along with the general methodology, a near complete solution for E-optimal block designs is provided for up to 15 treatments. E-optimality is revealed as a flexible criterion tha...
متن کاملAdaptive Biased-coin Designs for Clinical Trials with Several Treatments
Adaptive designs are used in phase III clinical trials for skewing the allocation pattern towards the better treatments. We use optimum design theory to provide a skewed biased-coin procedure for sequential designs with continuous responses. The skewed designs are used to provide adaptive designs, the performance of which is studied numerically for designs with three treatments. Important prope...
متن کاملOptimal crossover designs in a model with self and mixed carryover effects
We consider a variant of the usual model for crossover designs with carryover e ects. Instead of assuming that the carryover e ect of a treatment is the same regardless of the treatment in the next period, the model assumes that the carryover e ect of a treatment on itself is di erent from the carryover e ect on other treatments. For the traditional model optimal designs tend to have pairs of c...
متن کاملEfficient crossover designs for comparing test treatments with a control treatment when p = 3
Efficient crossover designs for comparing t test treatments to one control treatment with three periods is considered. Through this investigation and the characterization obtained for the A-optimal/efficient designs in the nearly entire class, the efficiency of a given design is evaluated and guidance for constructing highly efficient designs is provided.
